This textbook has been designed to meet the needs of B.Sc. Fourth Semester students of Botany for Patna University and other universities in Bihar under the recommended National Education Policy 2020.  It comprehensively covers the theoretical and practical aspect of the papers, namely, ';MJC 5: Morphology and Anatomy', ';MJC 6: Economic Botany' and ';MJC 7: Genetics.'

The theory section of MJC 5: Morphology and Anatomy focuses on the morphological characteristics of plants, their tissue systems, and both normal and anomalous secondary growth. It also explores the structural adaptations of plants to various environmental conditions, along with the structure and function of the periderm.

MJC 6: Economic Botany examines the botanical characteristics, economic significance, and distribution of crops, fruits, vegetables, timber, fiber-yielding plants, and more. Additionally, it delves into the botanical traits, cultivation practices, and uses of medicinal plants specific to Bihar.

MJC 7: Genetics introduces the foundational concepts of genetics, emphasizing Mendelian laws of inheritance and their variations. It further discusses chromosomal abnormalities, genetic disorders, and mutations.
