The Author H C Gupta is Professor of Physics at IIT Delhi. He obtained his MSc Degree in Physics from the Lucknow University in 1969 and PhD from IIT Delhi in 1972. He was a lecturer of Physics at K M College, University of Delhi between 1971 and 1981. He joined IIT Delhi as Assistant Professor of Physics in 1990. He has edited one book and published more than one hundred and fifty research papers in International journals of repute. His current research areas in Solid State Physics are thermal properties of solids, intercalated compounds and superconductivity.
