Dr Purnendu Kumar Das obtained master's degree from Utkal University and D. Phil. from Allahabad University. With 'Fisheries' as his field of specialization, he has more than thirty-five years of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience in colleges of repute in Odisha. His vast knowledge base and teaching experience was of immense service in authoring several textbooks including the present volume for undergraduate students.
