Captain (Retd.) Alphonsa Jacob has more than 28 years’ experience in teaching the subject of nursing, including psychiatric nursing. She is currently the Principal of Rajiv Gandhi School of Nursing, Co-operative Hospital, Koothathukulam, Ernakulam. Prior to this, she has been at Rajah School of Nursing, Muthevatoor. She has also served as Nursing Tutor at Govt. of Kerala School of Nursing, Alleppy and Ernakulam. Earlier, she worked as Tutor and Principal, School of Nursing, H.G.M. Hospital, Muthuchira, Kerala and at St. Thomas Hospital, Chettipuzha, Kerala. During 1973–1981, Mrs Jacob worked in Military Nursing Service at Pune, Mumbai and Lucknow, both as practising as well as academic professional. Other books to her credit are ‘Fundamentals of Nursing’ in two volumes, ‘Pharmacological Nursing’ and ‘Paediatric Nursing’. Her vast and varied experience reflects well in all her writings.
